Violence Prevention Charter Commitment

We therefore declare our commitment and intent to work in partnership towards achieving a just and peaceful country free of all forms of violence. We recognize that this commitment has real implications for our policies, programs, practices and actions. Our willingness to make this commitment indicates our sense of collective and personal responsibility for the present and future health, social and economic well being of Canadians.

Signed the Violence Prevention Charter and committed to the following actions to build a Canada free of violence.
Advocating for national legislation on crime prevention and public health to assist federal, provincial, municipal and civil society to implement effective violence prevention solutions to achieve significant reductions in violent crime. Using Irvin Waller´s book on Science and Secrets of Ending Violent Crime to raise awareness among politicians and the public of the human and financial benefits of reducing violent crime. This includes the extent of the tragedies caused by violent crime, proven upstream prevention strategies, successes of pathfinder cities and governments in implementing solutions, savings of lives, pain and loss, and taxes, affordability and feasibility, and benefits of investing in the futures, particularly of young disadvantaged Canadians.
